Message from Sue Rivers - Chair of Governors

On behalf of the St Martin’s School governing body it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our school’s website.

We have a skilled and hard-working staff who are dedicated to ensuring that all our students receive an education of the highest quality in a safe learning environment. Our aim is that each individual student leaves us, having succeeded to the best of their ability. We strive to achieve this by working together as a team to ensure that the school provides all of our students with the optimum learning environment for academic success, whilst promoting the growth of confidence and positive self-esteem in a setting of mutual respect, care and love. Positive behaviour is rewarded and successes are regularly celebrated.

Elsewhere on this website you will learn about life at St Martin’s School – the diversity of our community, the breadth of the curriculum, the enjoyment experienced by students and staff alike, for example; involvement in the Caerffili Urdd Eisteddfod, music concert performances, sporting achievements, eco club activities and international school trips.

St Martin’s School has many strengths and faces a wide range of exciting challenges. We have benefitted immensely from the support of our School’s Challenge Cymru Adviser and the Local Authority in recent months. All predictions indicate that our GCSE achievement will be our strongest ever this year. Our school attendance continues to improve and we continue to make good progress in enhancing levels of staff and student wellbeing.
