GCSE Results 2014
by K Davies 12 - Thursday, 21 August 2014, 11:10 AM

Many great results! Pupils and their families were mostly happy with their results this morning (see attachment and Twitter for pic collage). We are delighted that in these initial, provisional results English improved to 59% and science to 73%. Overall, key thresholds are: level 2+ (5 Cs or higher inc English and maths) 48%, Level 2 (5 Cs or higher) 58% and Level 1 (5 GCSEs/equivalent) 93%. That's an encouraging, small improvement in L2+. Year 10 pupils picking up module results (and complete maths results) did particularly well, which bodes well for further improvement next year.

A Level results 2014
by K Davies 12 - Thursday, 21 August 2014, 11:10 AM
Congratulations to all our Sixth Form who picked up their A2 results today. Almost everyone achieved the grades needed to get onto their chosen courses or start the next stage of their career. Particular mention must go to Jonathan Chan and Omri Tau who both achieved A*A*AA. Jonathan will now study Medicine in Bristol and Omri will study Chemistry in Bristol. Our Head Boy and Girl , Alex Seastram and Christina Davies also did particularly well achieving 3A's each. Alex will study Chemistry at Cardiff and Christina Dentistry. They, as well as most of our other students, worked extremely hard to achieve these results and we pass on our congratulations to you all. You deserve your success. We wish you all well as you move on to your next challenge. Initial overall statistics show a pleasing pass rate of 97.5% , level 3 threshold achievement of 99% and the proportion of A*/A/Distinctions as 18%.

Important notice - term time holidays
by C Coakley - Friday, 25 July 2014, 09:54 AM

From September 2014 St Martin's School will not be authorising holidays in Key Stage 3.

This is already the case for pupils in Key Stage 4 and with the introduction of fixed penalty notices from September, it is a fitting time for this to be applied to pupils in Key Stage 3 also.
