Proud to be a Healthy School!
by Mrs White - Tuesday, 22 January 2019, 11:31 AM

We are delighted to announce that Pengam Primary School has achieved the Healthy School Schemes National Quality Award. Pupils and staff worked extremely hard to demonstrate to assessors our commitment to implementing well being initiatives at the very highest level. Led by Miss Griffiths, our Healthy Schools co-ordinator, we were proud to read in the report:
"There is no doubt that Pengam Primary School is a Healthy school, truly deserving the National Quality Award. The school is supportive, welcoming, nurturing and inclusive, health and wellbeing firmly embedded within the value system of the school."
A fantastic team effort which we are all incredibly proud of!

Anti Bullying Week 12th-16th November 2018
by Mrs White - Sunday, 11 November 2018, 07:29 PM

Anti bullying

The theme of this year’s Anti Bullying week is ‘Choose Respect.’ During the week, our pupils will be reminded about the definition of respect (one of our school rules) and that bullying is a behaviour choice. We will also learn that we can respectfully disagree with each other and that we don’t have to be best friends or always agree with each other but we do have to respect each other. In addition, we will discuss how we all need to choose to respect each other, both face to face and online.
Our School Council will be reviewing the Anti Bullying policy and during the week, our Head and Deputy Head boys and girls will be organising a fundraising event to raise money for new books for our Well-Being library. There will also be an ‘odd-socks day’ to raise awareness of bullying issues. Information will be sent out next week.
