Newbridge Pupils to the Rescue

We are very proud of three Year 7 pupils who gave their support to a gentleman who had a serious cycling accident in Cwmcarn Forest Drive.

The gentleman had careered off the cycle path and crashed down a hill sustaining serious injuries.  The boys, Max Hopkins (7I2), Jack Pearce (7I2) and Ethan Evans (7M3), saw and heard this happen.  They stayed with the injured gentleman for 4 hours until an ambulance arrived.

One of the boys, Max Hopkins, has first aid training and used this to good purpose.  All the boys did their best to keep the gentleman calm and made sure he wasn’t alone whilst waiting for help.  Jack and Ethan cycled up and down the track waiting to direct the ambulance to the scene of the incident.

We are immensely proud of the community spirit these young men displayed.  Well done!
