The Head teacher, Heather Duncan, and the Chair of Governors, Cllr Len Lewis MBE confirmed:

We are proud of the significant improvements the school is continuing to make. This reflects the hard work of the pupils, staff and families. Performance in all key headline indicators has improved with 92% at least five A* - G qualifications. 63% of girls gained at least five A*-C grades with a significant improvement in the five qualifications including English and Maths – now up to over 45% of pupils.

62 of the girls got at least one A* qualification with 12 pupils gaining at least nine GCSEs at A* or A grade. This reflects some outstanding individual performances including JULIA CUSHION who achieved 10 A*s and 2 A grades, her sister (and triplet) FELICITY CUSHION (their brother is a student at the boys’ school) who gained 5 A*s and 5 A grades, SARAH CUTLER who achieved 9 A*s and 2 A grades with MICHELLE CLEGG gaining 6 A*s and 6 A grades.

Girls achieving more than 9 A* or A grades were AMY COLE, BETHAN CAPEL, CHARLOTTE DAVIES, LAUREN HOLDER, MARI HOULGREAVE, LOIS LUCAS, MEGAN SPOOR and MARA YEUNG.

Lewis Girls’ School continues to pride itself on the achievements of its learners. They are a credit to the school, and their families, and we are delighted that so many of them will stay with us to pursue their studies in our 6th form.
