Congratulations to our GCSE Pupils!
by Mr A Butters - Thursday, 20 August 2015, 03:54 PM

Pupils

Lewis Girls’ School has seen an 11% increase in the A* - C performance in Maths which has led to an increase in most headline figures for the school.

61% of students achieved Maths GCSE at a level C or above. This was also true of English Language(61%), with English Literature performing at 71% and Science achieving 85%.

81% of pupils achieved 5 GCSEs at C or above , with 53% achieving 5 GCSEs at C or above, including maths and English.

98% of pupils achieved 5 GCSEs, with no pupil leaving without a recognised qualification.

Only 3 pupils were in alternative provisions, other than at school.

18% of pupils achieved an A* or A grade in English, 19% in Science and 9% in maths.

The school is very clear on its priorities for the next academic year and is excited at the journey of continual improvement it is on.

Lewis Girls’ School ‘bucks’ the national trend!
by Mr A Butters - Thursday, 13 August 2015, 11:55 AM

The Head teacher, Chair of Governors, staff and Governors of Lewis Girls’ are delighted to announce that, despite a downward national trend in A level results, the school has seen a 10% rise in the achievement of A level and equivalent courses this year.

Pupils

There were a huge number of individual success stories including Deputy head girl, Emily Borghese who achieved three A* and two A grades at A level, moving on to read Law at Warwick University. Eleri Hall achieved a bursary from Swansea University where she will be studying History as she achieved two A* and two A grades at A level. Vocational courses also performed exceptionally well with, for example, Lauren Roberts achieving a double distinction * and an A grade. She will study forensic investigation.

The school is very proud to confirm that 71 out of the 121 students achieved at least one A grade or equivalent.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Dr. Duncan
