Hello! I’m Andrew Morgan and I work in the Education team supporting Schools, Leisure centres and Libraries. As a team, we provide telephone and onsite support for the devices you use every day as well as the servers that store all your information. I enjoy my job because I get to meet new, interesting people every day who on the majority of occasions are happy to see us!
In the last 18 months I’ve bought a house with my better half, Shaunna, and we have a little black cat called Molly. In my spare time I like to keep fit and spend time with family and friends.
Wayne Turner is the Network Development Officer for IT looking after the maintenance and support of the Authorities endpoint devices e.g PCs, Laptops, Tablets, Printers etc. This is for the Corporate and Education arenas.
Wayne started in Local Government in September 1985 so has nearly 29 years experience in IT Services. He has worked as a programmer on PCs and Mainframes, a Training Officer plus extensive roles within the field of Office Systems (Documents, Email and Calendars). Wayne previously worked for Mid Glamorgan County Council but started in Caerphilly in January 1996 setting up the PC infrastructure ready for the staff to utilise in April 1996. The network was a lot smaller then !
Wayne continues to stay abreast of the technology and has a keen interest in IT from software to hardware gadgets. He has 3 children aged 12, 14 and 16 so has an added incentive to work closely in the development of Caerphilly schools plus he has to learn Facebook, Twitter, Electronic books, tablets etc just to keep up with his own children. Wayne is also a Governor of a Primary and a Secondary school.
Outside work Wayne was a keen Table Tennis player playing for many years in the Cardiff League. Of late though his time is spent sitting in a forest watching rally cars and taking photographs. Easier on the legs for a 47 year old ! He lives in Gilfach with his wife Janet, who he's been with since 1990, and their family.
After six long years of working with the Education IT Team, It saddens me to inform you that I will be shortly hanging up my boots...As from June 1st I will be moving onto pastures new, still working for Caerphilly, but I have been promoted into the Corporate Intel Server Team.
Over the last few years, I have gotten to know many of you and build up a good relationship between myself and the school. All I can say is that it has been a complete pleasure and I will miss working with you all.
I hope that I was able to provide you the support that you deserved, and hope that my replacement (Whoever that may be) will continue to give you that top level support
So from me...... A Very Very Big Thank You......
