Congratulations to the PE Department and the 5x60 team. This week we received national recognition of the quality of their work through the re-accreditation of the Active Mark. This follows a rigorous assessment of the quality of experiences provided for pupils to promote healthy and active living, and also praises the high levels of participation in sport in this school.

Congratulations to CL & HB for their hard work in implementing and sustaining changes to the health curriculum in the school.
On Mondays, any pupils with notes or cheques must put them into envelopes and place them in the box at the back of the canteen. The canteen does not provide the envelopes.
Basic Skills Quality Assurance
Our school has been awarded the Basic Skills Quality Standard in recognition of the outstanding work we do to support pupils in our basic skills target groups.
All these pupils are in mainstream classes, and the assessor was highly complimentary about the quality of interventions in literacy and numeracy deployed in the school. The assessormet many staff members and observed two lessons which were descried as outstanding.
Achieving this Standard is a real challenge, and has taken a huge amount of work and effort. Congratulations to all members of the Basic Skills team.
Investors in Families
We are the 1st Welsh Secondary School to be re-accredited and granted this prestigious reward. Our assessor was extremely impressed and paid tribute to the quality of the work and the 'passion' for working with our families. Well Done CL, AR and all staff involved.
Congratulations to The Young Consumer Team who competed extremely well in the Welsh finals at Cardiff City Stadium. They came a creditable 6th overall in Wales. Which is an excellent achievement.
Congratulations to all Year8/9/10 pupils who delivered workshops to Year 6 pupils at the KS2 MAT day on Friday 20th March. This was a very successful and enjoyable day. Primary pupils and staff were extremely complimentary about our pupils. Well done!
Congratulations to the F1 team who finished around 10th place overall and 2nd in Wales at the National finals.
Congratulations to 7W who were the Francovision winners for 2015. All Year 7 participated brilliantly, so well done to all!
Congratulations to Tomas Harris & Daniel Thomas who won their race at The Jaguar Cars - Maths in Motion Challenge. They will now have to prepare another car for the semi-final race in May.
